Today's usual "recovery" exercise the day after my "long" run seemed harder work than usual, but I still managed to clock up another 32 lengths, which is near enough half a mile. And apart from the odd stroke at the end of the length, or when I'm taking extra care to avoid other pool users, I did it all with my head down underwater. Oh, and except every 4 strokes when I lift my head to breath, of course!
