Day 55 - Friday 6th August: Dry Tri

"Dry tri" gym challenge
2k row: 8m 03s
5k bike: 9m 11s
3k run: 14m 56s

I couldn't decide what to do today. Originally it was supposed to be a day off ending with a curry - but that fell through. So what exercise should I do instead? First I was going to cycle to work and back. Then I thought I'd drive to work, and run home the long way (14 miles), and then cycle back to fetch my car. However after yesterday's super speedy run, I didn't feel quite up to so much exercise, so opted for a quick gym challenge instead.

The first time I did this 10k, I managed it in 33 minutes 43 seconds. Then a couple of weeks later I went back and did it again. I rowed faster, ran faster, but cycled slower, so my time was 34 minutes 33 seconds. Today, however, I went for it! I rowed 3 seconds outside my previous best, but cycled over a minute faster than last time, and then ran almost a minute quicker too! So on my 3rd attempt, I've set a PB for this 10k of 32 minutes 10 seconds.

To top it off, I did another 100 sit-ups for the #absofsteel challenge.

Running 13.1 miles in memory of Carl

I ran the Silverstone Half Marathon on 15th March 2009. I managed the 13.1 mile course in 2 hours and 4 minutes. Not a bad effort for my first Half Marathon! I returned in 2010 to run it in 1 hour 54 minutes, and plan to do it again in 2011. I decided to run this in aid of The PSC Trust and PSC Support in memory of my brother Carl, who died from liver failure in November 1997. If you'd like to sponsor me for this - please email me at pscrun@ulen.me.uk PSC Trust
