Day 62 - Friday 13th August: Treadmill

Distance: 4.11 miles (6.62km)
Time: 40 minutes

I couldn't decide whether to run indoors or out today. There were heavy rain showers off and on. I was tired & feeling unmotivated having been to a friend's wedding yesterday (and perhaps having indulged in one or two glasses of wine too many, oops).

Since I was lacking in the get up & go, and didn't relish getting soaked too, I decided to let the gym do the running for me, all I had to do was stay in one place and keep up.

I chose the Faringdon gym for a change, to re-familiarise myself with the equipment there, as I'd quite like to do the "10k Gym challenge" there soon.

Very surprisingly for a treadmill run (especially one of 40 minutes), it wasn't mind numbingly tedious. Or maybe it was and it was my run-down mood that meant I failed to notice?

Anyway, I took it pretty easy, and covered a reasonable distance on a hilly profile (flat / 2 / flat / 4 / flat / 6 / flat / 6 / flat), running about 10-11 km/h.

Running 13.1 miles in memory of Carl

I ran the Silverstone Half Marathon on 15th March 2009. I managed the 13.1 mile course in 2 hours and 4 minutes. Not a bad effort for my first Half Marathon! I returned in 2010 to run it in 1 hour 54 minutes, and plan to do it again in 2011. I decided to run this in aid of The PSC Trust and PSC Support in memory of my brother Carl, who died from liver failure in November 1997. If you'd like to sponsor me for this - please email me at pscrun@ulen.me.uk PSC Trust
