I fought the lawn and the lawn won

Distance: 1.5 miles
Time: 15m19s

I decided to mow the lawn this weekend, long overdue but the first free dry weekend since I got back from hols. I've a hand-powered mower as a) it's cheaper to run b) it's environmentally friendly c) it's good exercise and d) it's normally quicker than a flymo. Unless the grass is long, and despite the good weather still slightly damp. I tussled with it for a while, but had to give up when darkness was drawing in as the blades were just slipping and refusing to cut the last two strips. Oh well, should be easy enough to finish tomorrow, assuming it stays dry. It was very good exercise though!

Then off for my first "long" run since my return too. Only 1.5 miles at this stage, maybe I'll increase that to two next week.

Off for a swim tomorrow. Cycling Tuesday.

Running 13.1 miles in memory of Carl

I ran the Silverstone Half Marathon on 15th March 2009. I managed the 13.1 mile course in 2 hours and 4 minutes. Not a bad effort for my first Half Marathon! I returned in 2010 to run it in 1 hour 54 minutes, and plan to do it again in 2011. I decided to run this in aid of The PSC Trust and PSC Support in memory of my brother Carl, who died from liver failure in November 1997. If you'd like to sponsor me for this - please email me at pscrun@ulen.me.uk PSC Trust
