I've broken the 7-minute-mile

Distance: 1 mile
Time: 6m56s

Another fast one today. The fastest yet. A mere 55 days ago I was very chuffed that I'd run a mile in under 8 minutes. Today I've slashed that by running the same mile in under 7 minutes, at an average pace of 8.7mph. If I can maintain a "fast" mile pace around the 7 minute mark, then I could possibly run a full marathon in under 4 hours (9-minute-miles). Hmmm. We'll see. I was this confident this time last year, and come the new year when I was running 8, 9 and 10 mile runs my pace slackened off considerably, especially when my knee started playing up. So I'm not counting any chickens just yet, just basking in my personal glory of a new personal best.

Do you think I can break the 6-minute-mile by mid January? No - neither do I!!

Running 13.1 miles in memory of Carl

I ran the Silverstone Half Marathon on 15th March 2009. I managed the 13.1 mile course in 2 hours and 4 minutes. Not a bad effort for my first Half Marathon! I returned in 2010 to run it in 1 hour 54 minutes, and plan to do it again in 2011. I decided to run this in aid of The PSC Trust and PSC Support in memory of my brother Carl, who died from liver failure in November 1997. If you'd like to sponsor me for this - please email me at pscrun@ulen.me.uk PSC Trust
