I've taken up yoga!

Upon a recommendation from a friend, who's a personal trainer, I've decided to take up yoga in order to increase my flexibility and fitness, to avoid aches and pains caused by running and generally improve my overall well being. In preparation for starting a full 12-week course in January I popped along to a Beginners Hatha Yoga session. Despite not really knowing what I was doing (having never attempted yoga before), I really enjoyed it and found most of it fairly straightforward. I know I wasn't great at it right away (that will come with practice), but I felt I was able to get more out of it than I was initially expecting for a first session. I came away feeling really invigorated and relaxed at the same time. My whole body felt limber. This is great stuff! Back next week for another taster session, then I'm really looking forward to starting a slightly more intense yoga flow course in the new year!

Running 13.1 miles in memory of Carl

I ran the Silverstone Half Marathon on 15th March 2009. I managed the 13.1 mile course in 2 hours and 4 minutes. Not a bad effort for my first Half Marathon! I returned in 2010 to run it in 1 hour 54 minutes, and plan to do it again in 2011. I decided to run this in aid of The PSC Trust and PSC Support in memory of my brother Carl, who died from liver failure in November 1997. If you'd like to sponsor me for this - please email me at pscrun@ulen.me.uk PSC Trust
